Pickle doesn't claim he is forced to be a US citizen; he claims that he is not a US citizen.

"There is no US law against leaving the US and choosing to be a citizen of another country. (of course, without a Passport, no country will likely let you in their country)"

You touched on one of the laws with passports. There are also penalties that the US govt will attempt to enforce if you renounce and leave.
