fluid dynamics. Fluids will always move from an area of high pressure to one of low pressure. With two high pressure fronts inland one slightly northeast and the other slightly northwest the low pressure storm system had nowhere to go and stalled just as it made land.
That is physics so simple that elementary school kids can understand it. If a storm cannot move inland it will continue to feed and not dissipate. Watch Harvey dwindle the next few days as it moves inland. Without the high pressure fronts Harvey would have been a relatively minor storm that damaged only the coastal areas where it made landfall.
Do planes fly because of climate change too or do you concede that one is due to fluid dynamics?
