Word of God was previously coached by former Tiger Randy Pulley, who also was a star player there back in the day.

Former Raleigh Word of God basketball star Randy Pulley has returned to the school as its head basketball coach.

Pulley averaged 26.5 points a game during his senior season and helped lead Word of God to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association championship game in 2001.He signed with Saint Louis University and played one season before transferring to Barton (Kan.) Community College. He played one season at Missouri before completing his career at Talladega (Ala.) College.

"I had a very different type of career and I played for a lot of coaches," Pulley said. "I hope my experiences can help the players that we have here."

"Randy is an alum of the program and has strong academic credentials," Summerfield said. "He is working on his masters degree now and will be a great person to work with our students."
