Bill Clinton last balanced the budget and it was the best thing he did.

If social security and medicare were eliminated, millions of Americans would become empoverished. Agreed?

What would be the consequences of that? What other nation like the USA has successfully eliminated (or not implemented) social safety nets?

I'd have to research it but my initial thought is that most countries like the USA have higher taxes and greater social safety than the US.

Is there an example of a country going the other way which successfully promulgated the nation and it's people?

Or, is this a libertarian fantasy? That's redundant, is it not?
