I guess that all depends on your point of view, huh?
Most believe the flag represents good in the world, not everything that is bad in the world as the left believes. The anthem is played in remembrance of those who have fought and died to preserve freedom (its not the Confederate anthem, by the way)--and it isn't race selective.
I guess a better question would be why do Black Lives Matter? It's a loss of respect for anything that has eroded the black communities, producing a society that is killing each other.
There isn't one of the kneelers who can articulate how their disrespect toward the anthem in pre-game is affiliated with their cause. 2 Browns' players interviewed in the locker room post-game stammered through some unintelligible reasoning that revealed the whole stunt wasn't really thought out before hand. It was just disrespect for the sake of disrespect. Nothing more than that.
