I would never expect to eliminate all deaths in interactions

between people and security personnel (be it cops, private security or whatever).
However, under the current public policing system in the United States, there are far too many proactive policing interactions, due to the enormous amounts of cite-able offenses, and many of these interactions are high stakes because the person being temporarily detained is committing some sort of non-violent "offense" due to his possession of something deemed "contraband".
I want those interactions to be eliminated, and I want police officers to serve as peace officers, not police officers. People's hearts shouldn't start beating faster when a police car is in their rear view mirror. And they shouldn't fear years of imprisonment when they are pulled over for a broken tail light.
