Cuonzo not making any excuses and just grinding out a rebuild, vs Kim's continual excuses and blaming others and talking about how things can't be done or he doesn't know how to do them.
Overall the biggest difference is competence and credibility. Cuonzo is a legit D1 coach, was able to compile a reasonably legit D1 staff, and has the respect of recruits and high school coaches and AAU coaches. He also came in with a plan and set about executing it, rather than being completely unprepared and not having any idea how to run a program.
It remains to be seen how much of a tactical upgrade and better overall product Cuonzo will put on the court. It seems impossible that he could be nearly as inept at in game coaching and preparation than Kim and his staff were, but that is an unreasonably low benchmark and he will need to not only surpass that but do so by quite a bit for MU to be reasonably competitive.
As a fan, the biggest difference is that MU basketball has expectations and reasons for optimism again. We went through 3 straight years where the expectations where simply absurdly low, and then we never ever approached reaching those absurdly low expectations. It is going to be kind of refreshing following a program that is actually trying again.
