The SEC will dominate any sport it prioritizes, thanks to its massive financial and recruiting advantages (a combination that no other conference can compete with).

The SEC, especially under the new leadership of Greg Sankey, decided that it was tired of the #SECBasketballFever jokes. One by one, SEC schools began upgrading their facilities and coaching staff, and it's really starting to pay off. The SEC's 2017 recruiting classes are better (on average) than any other conference. It's creating competition within the league that's forcing all of the schools to improve their program even further. The SEC will soon be regarded as the best or 2nd best league in college basketball, on par with the ACC.
