And if you do, it explains why you want Matheny fired, you don't know sh*t about baseball.
These positions on a roster are pieced together by the GM. If an MLB player has mediocre defense as an infielder, they are not going to miraculously get better after a week of practice or even a year, or career.
If a player makes a dumb decision, like skip the cut off man, that is the player's fault.
The only thing Matheny has real control over is the lineup and moves.
If he has nothing to work with, that is not on him.
