Blackwater was privatized military, ie born of the free market. They paid well, too. I had a friend who was a Marine who considered it because they paid six figures.

Is that not what hes asking? "Or should we have socialized police and military to protect us?"

Perhaps I should have said something vague and inane like "sometimes you have to abandon free market principles to save the free market".

But I do think its hilariously hypocritical of you to say someone else is dodging questions.
