another rep told him to just take MARTA from the airport and it would have a stop right at his hotel. He was young and figured the guy knew what he was talking about.
He gets on the MARTA at the airport and is lugging his suitcase, garment bag and a briefcase. Notices he is the only white person on the train but has no problem. Gets to his stop and discovers it is quite a hike to his hotel from the train station.
Gets to the desk and is checking in and the desk clerk asks about his car and explains the parking garage abd the validation for hotel guests. "No car....I took MARTA".
Clerk is surprised and steps back from the counter. Says he can't believe he made it in one piece. Says everyone in Atlanta knows "MARTA stands for Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta".
Realizes the other rep, a older guy his father's age, was quite the prankster and got one over on him.
