talent in only 2 months especially considering how late in the recruiting cycle it was, with very few good players remaining (in fact, two of the recruits Cuonzo got had LOIs with other schools at the time he was hired).
With Tilmon committing and Jontay on the way, Cuonzo had to make room, so he had the "the talk" with Kemp.
Make no mistake, if Cuonzo had the luxury of a full recruiting cycle and was able to get Knox and other high-profile recruits, then CVL and Geist would have had "the talk" as well.
So, I wouldn't say the hold-overs are "sticking it out" as you described it. It's the other way around. The new staff is sticking it out with the hold-overs due to the inherent recruiting limitations they faced. That will not be the case in 2018 when they have a full cycle to work with, as well as momentum from what is likely to be a very good 2017 season.
