It is also conceivable but not likely that comey was about to open a new phase of the investigation or that he found something on the president.

That would imo be an absurd reason to fire him as once comey has no fear for his job, he could reveal lots of awful stuff, if it exists. Firing him would not silence him but give him a megaphone with which to scream his findings to the world.

There did seem to be some urgency as trump did not wait until comey returned from california. That to me is curious and a dismissal from a continent away without a personal meeting seems unprofessional.

Unless comey had made a major gaff known only to the white house and DoJ.

There are imo a million or so reason why it was done like it was and when it was, virtually all of them without the specter of a conspiracy.

And as i said this morning, the socialists as they did with trayvon martin and michael brown have arrived at their conclusion via short cuts that did not have facts or common sense in their equation.

I am standing with trump on this, as i have said for months that comey was odd, and should be replaced. Chucky schumer delayed and delayed and delayed the filling of important positions in the administration and now has the chutzpa to say the dismissal should have happened months ago.

Had this happened months ago, the socialists would have wailed that the firing was not given due consideration and comey was dismissed unfairly.

Or something.
