This piece simply states the obvious. The message Trump is sending is that submissive subservience is the only way to keep your job.

I didn't like Comey - he was a right wing boot licker to start with. His "ferguson effect" comments were immoral. The FBI's efforts to quash dissent are anti-democratic (see occupy wall street for examples). The FBI's "terrorist busts" usually turn out to be absurd entrapment cases where the FBI initiated, organized and egged on the supposed "plots". In other words, obvious political propaganda. But actions have more than one consequence. And an important message being sent out by Trump is that if cover ups are needed to protect his ego, then he will attack those who won't participate in the cover up with gusto. Even immoral bootlickers like Comey.
