for many years, but only in very recent times has it become apparent, thanks to recent technology. The fact is that there are, still, examples of police conduct, often resulting in death of an innocent, that is contrary to accepted police practice and policy, prevailing law and even common sense and increasingly is made known to the public, especially with cameras. And more to the point, many of them are not held accountable at all.
And I'm not even talking about police corruption, like planting evidence that results in conviction, lying on reports or even in court. (Which, if proven, should result in instant firing and loss of benefits).
As much as you campaign for the rights and welfare of cops it is even MORE important to campaign for complete accountability of police actions. Until then, you'll see discord, riots and preventable cop shootings.
