Just an observation that while Xenophobia is a fear of other by definition, it appears to me that both Islamophobia and Homophobia are not "fear" of elements of Islam or homosexuality as they are an emotional scale from hard-bitten dislike to hatred.

I think Homophobes, for one reason or another and I can't figure it out, hate gay folks. Perhaps they feel uncomfortable with it, but unless they are themselves latent or suppressed homos themselves and they fear coming out and all that would entail - I think it is general dislike, disgust or hatred - again, not fear.
