Kim was much less equipped than other potential D2 candidates. I'm not suggesting they would all fail to similar degrees. But that doesn't mean that is a viable path or that they would achieve success. There is a reason MU is the singular example in the modern era of college basketball to attempt that path, and it resulted in unmitigated failure.
There are simply too many huge obstacles for a candidate like that to overcome, its an unnecessary risk without much of a countering potential for payoff. Just hire an actual real coach.
