That's good enough to win almost any conference most years. It wasn't that year for VCU. Still a very good year.
After that they moved to a much more difficult mid-major.
No, he's not Brad Stevens, dominating his small conference every year on his way to greatness. But he's done pretty damn well at an early age. And he did finish ahead of Stevens' Butler team when both moved to the A-10.
