The flagship university (and only P5 school) of a fairly large state, as you pointed out.

Pinkel is far from being an "elite" coach or recruiter, and yet he was able to achieve consistent high-level success here.

It's too bad there are so many self-loathing fans who do not recognize that Mizzou is a top 30 (arguably top 20-25) job in both major sports. They settle for less and accept mediocrity.
