1. The game, against a mediocre opponent we have no business losing to. No other top 25 team would lose to this team. Or even come close to losing.
2. Our top 25 ranking. It's gone now.
3. Our RPI takes a hit. How bad, we will see.
4. Our shot at an undisputed SEC championship is gone. Best we can hope for now is a 3 way tie with Florida and Kentucky. And that's only if we pull off a huge upset against Florida.
5. Our momentum and chance for a top 16 national seed is gone at this point. It was going to be a close call to get a national seed in the 14-16 range even before this game. They kicked that away. That's gone now. We may not even get that back with an upset of Florida. So instead of hosting a regional at home, and still have to get past a really good B1G team to advance to the round of 16, we will now be on the road against Kansas or a seeded B1G team and an early trip home.
Quite a lot to lose on a single game, where Kreklow clearly did an awful job preparing the team for a trap game, and the team just didn't show up, when all they had to do was keep focus and not overlook a mediocre team.
Mizzou becomes the first of the 4 NCAA teams in the SEC conference (us, FL, UK, TAMU) to lose to any of the bottom 8 teams in the SEC. Hard to believe. Right after sweeping Kentucky on the road. Just no excuse for this kind of performance at a critical time of the season.
We lost way more than a single match today.
