he gets to get a masters for free (there isn't much money in wrestling). He gets to stay train with wrestling after football while still on the fb dime even though he doesn't have any time left.

It is a no brainer. I would be suprised if he sees much time on the field since he will have been out of fb for 4 years and trying to learn what others have had multiple years to learn and practice.
