the footprint is the starting point for cable tv revenues. When and if people cut the cord, the one thing they will hang on to is their live sports, even if it's offered a la carte. And the conferences will still get money from those people, whether they watch live tv or stream it, because it's about the content, not the medium. You're just transferring one revenue stream to another medium.

It's only if people quit watching anything at all, live tv or internet, will it have a significant impact, and considering the numbers who watch soap operas and dysfunctional talk show tv, I doubt that's going to happen in any great numbers.
