Bruisin' Ale is one of the most respected bottle shops in the country, based on Internet sales. I was very impressed by how much stuff they could fit in such a small space.

Bouchon is a casual French bistro. I had dinner at the bar one evening and started shooting the sh*t with the owner, who's a very friendly, down to earth guy from Lyon. I caught his interest when I mentioned that STL is the American sister city of his hometown. He's very proud to be French, but equally grateful to have been provided the opportunity to succeed in the US. Highly recommended.

I really liked how the Thirsty Monk had American beer on the first floor and Belgian in the basement. I've only seen that at one other place in the US...the Crescent Moon in Omaha of all places.
