And from 2014 to 2015.

That isn't just him not being able to play the players he wanted, which is a bit too simplistic by itself even if it was true, enough to be the sole problem.

Pinkel took a chance with a former Mizzou player, who hadn't proven himself yet at Illinois, due to the untimely retirement of Bruce Walker right before the season started. That left the program hanging. There wasn't opportunity to find anybody else at a time when all the good line coaches already had jobs. I didn't have a problem with it given the circumstances, and hoped for the best. It just didn't pan out.
