are much more likely to have advanced degrees than conservatives. Most of the people I know who are at least progressive are well studied well read people. They're not near as likely to agree on everything just because it fits their political box. They see problems both ways and call them out.
Now, to be fair, I am not a liberal, but I consider myself to be a progressive. I believe science can solve nearly every problem in our country (and I'm not just talking the physical sciences). I believe in a pragmatic approach to foreign policy and am socially left but fiscally conservative.
In the 1980's I probably would have voted for Reagan over Mondale. But that's just it. The country has slide further left of center, especially since 9/11. Meanwhile the GOP has fractured into two parties. The old traditional conservatives (but closer to center than far right) and the new Nazis, i.e. Trump and his pickup truck drivin' yokels.
