I came out of school with about $15k debt by using a combination of work study, loans, grants, and other scholarship.

There are two problems with them. Students taking on these debts with no clue on finances and what the debt really means to them....and then the lenders side lending all of this money to students at such an early age (and I am sure giving no education on what it means).


What do the lenders have to lose...NOTHING...the interest is paid for by the government, and it is protected even in bankruptcy. Maybe if lenders had some skin in the game, they would not just write blank checks
