Condo's, I mean communes, or condo's?

At a commune everyone chips in to keep the place running.
At a condo, everyone pays to keep the place running. If there's roof damage, the entire condo facility shares in the costs. There are shared costs to keep the grass mowed, the fountains working, and everything else with the general upkeep.
But professionals live in condos. They wear suits and ties and they have retirement funds. They drive respectable cars and get haircuts every 3-5 weeks.
But ideologically, how much different is that than a commune?
