nominated for only two Golden Globes and one Bafta, but didn't win...it was ignored by the Oscars.

It attracted some critical acclaim, but absolutely nothing close to what it deserves IMHO.

I stopped it almost a quarter of the way though, asking myself how in the hell did I miss this movie, and searched IMDB for info. It's ranked #174 by IMdB users for alltime favorite movies.

It may become considered another overlooked masterpiece like "Shallow Grave".
