J.T. Tiller was kicking himself after Missouri teammate Laurence Bowers went to a doctor to have his left wrist taped after practice Monday. “I meant to tell him before he got X-rays, but I didn’t tell him in time,” said Tiller, who played through a similar injury. A year ago, he refused to let doctors examine his wrist during Missouri’s run to the Big 12 tournament title and the NCAA Elite Eight.
Football. Spring Football Gets Underway
The Mizzou Football squad got its 2010 spring camp opened up Tuesday afternoon inside the Dan Devine Pavilion. With rainy conditions outside, Coach Gary Pinkel put his team through the paces of a workout which lasted close to 2 1/2 hours. Due to NCAA rules, the first two workouts in spring ball are without pads, so the scrimmaging Tuesday was limited.
Track. Adcock is Regional Athlete of the Year
Tiger senior combined-event standout Nick Adcock (Kansas City, Mo.) has been honored as the US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Regional Field Athlete of the Year, as announced Tuesday (March 9). Adcock is the second-straight Tiger to take home this award as former Tiger All-American Chris Rohr was the recipient of the award in 2009. The award recognizes the top male and female track and field athletes from the nine different regions across the nation, along with assistant and head coaches.

Missouri sophomore guard Kim English added to his growing list of awards on Tuesday, as he was named to the United States Basketball Writers Association All-District VI team. English is the third Tiger named to the team over the past two seasons, joining DeMarre Carroll and Leo Lyons who were named All-District in 2009.

Kim English, despite having a father who was a high school star in Baltimore, didn't take up basketball until his teens. English, now a sophomore guard for Missouri, did so because he found he was good at it but also because he could be quietly good. The game helped him deal with a severe stuttering problem he had as a child.
