Various political philosophies have adopted parts of Marx’s thought, such as Leninism and Maoism, they are not actually Marxism and diverge significantly in many ways.

Newsom isn’t a Marxist at all. He is a socially progressive capitalist. He doesn’t want to see the end of capitalism. He wants to put social restrictions into capitalism.
