SCOTUS knocks down the tariffs, Trump still pretty much wins. Not his objectives, but he has a big ruling to point to for any recession in his term. We were bringing in revenue, hundreds of billions, then SCOTUS shut it down.

If he goes to Congress, the Dems will try to block it and he can point to them costing the government hundreds of billions in revenue. Even if he doesn’t go to Congress, he could still try to use the lawsuit against Dems that resulted in the ruling.
