Dems are tripping all over themselves to show Trump is a threat to democracy they claimed he was in the campaign last year. Trump keeps going right up to that line, sticking his toe across waiting for the Dems to react and he pulls his toe back in.

He’s playing on their reactionary responses and setting them up badly for 2026. Democrats are doing it to themselves instead of pausing, thinking and responding.

Trump has his base locked up. The middle independent voters are going to get sick of the reactionary responses of Democrats. And they are going to tell themselves that what Trump is actually doing isn’t a threat to democracy. But the Democrats are leaderless reactionaries, why vote for them?
