Schnooks has Certified Angus Beef ground chuck on sale now for $4.49/pound right now. Ground chuck is a bit higher quality then regular hamburger, which is derived from trimmings. I raised Angus cattle for most of my life. We fed out steers for our own family and sold bulls and replacement females, as well as feeder cattle. The CAB program ensures high quality to the consumer. Its pricey, but it beats taking your chances with most of what is offered at the grocery store. If you can find a local cattleman who will sell quarters and halves and you have the freezer space, that is a good way to go. Expect to pay between $3 and $4 per pound plus processing.
