Manufacturing renaissance? Ain’t happening

Especially as we’ve raised the cost for most manufacturers in the U.S. to do business thanks to tariffs.
We have this vision of a utopian middle class made up of manufacturing jobs that don’t require a college degree like it was in the 60s.
Yet, the same party wanting manufacturing back to boost the middle class is anti-union.
Unions are what made the middle class manufacturing sector thrive with higher wages, benefits, etc… you can’t want this amazing manufacturing sector back while also being anti-union, otherwise, it won’t work and the majority of those manufacturing jobs will pay the same as WalMart
