The fact that both QBs are getting votes for captainship from their teammates is a good thing. They are both respected in the locker room, so if something happens to the eventual starter, it sounds like the team will rally behind the backup. Hopefully it won't come to that, but it sounds like the QB room is exactly what you'd want it to be: deep.
Mizzou has done an excellent job of building depth throughout the roster. Six DEs in the rotation. 4/5 LBs for two spots. A bunch of good safeties. Three starter-quality CBs. Probably seven OL worthy of starting, potentially more. And so it makes sense that they would have two starter-quality QBs.
This is exactly what you want.
