"SEC games" to ESPN does not mean conference games, it means games in which a SEC team is playing.


16 SEC teams
8-game SEC slate =
8 games x 8 weeks = 64 games
16 games x 4 weeks = 64

Total SEC package of 128 games to be broadcast

9-game SEC slate =
8 games x 9 weeks = 72 games
16 games x 3 weeks = 48

Total SEC package 120 games to be broadcast

That is an entire week's worth of inventory that would be lost
