it's the default, it's implied; HOWEVER, the reason you hear about Zelensky and the US/CIA/NATO's culpability here is to provide some reality to the negotiation and expectations imo.

it isn't like the US is some white knight riding in to save the day - they helped create this. Sure, Putin takes the blame for the war, but the US sure did its best to put that into his option list.

Zelensky has no strength from which to negotiate directly with Putin. None. There HAS to be land compromise, NATO compromise and Putin has to make concessions on nuclear deployment.
