This is correct, its what they should be settling for. The Ukraine will likely lose everything east of the Dnieper River before this war is over. Their drone attacks on civilian targets in Western Russia ensure that eventual end. If they continue to resist, they'll likely also lose Odessa and their access to the Black Sea.
