The US isn't really in a position to dictate terms to Russia

Russia is clearly winning the war despite hundreds of billions in aid, training and logistics help from the US & NATO.
We are running low on stockpiles of missiles & other armaments, and of course, we're already running a $2 trillion annual deficit, with $1 trillion/year (& growing) of that is in interest payments.
Pouring additional hundreds of billions into Ukraine would only slow the inevitable a little bit.
Crimeans as a whole do not want to be part of Ukraine. They are ethnic Russian.

Do you mean to ally ourselves more with China? They already have treaties & friendship agreements and are part of the Brics alliance. India is already ticked off at the US for the additional tariffs because of their oil purchases from Russia.
