he open flow of migrants via abuse of the asylum process and non-enforcement of the US border resulted in more human suffering by far than proper border enforcement would have (by having people stay in their home countries).
It also enriched cartels, middlemen, and other low level horrible people as well as USAID NGO operators and money funnelers.
The argument that enforcing the border is immoral or inhumane or lacks compassion is lost on me.
