Reportedly, Trump demanded and thought he could get the Russians to agree to a ceasefire and a freeze of the current lines of contact. Meanwhile, our European Nato allies expressed their intent to rearm the Ukraine and deploy EU sponsored multination military force, 'a coalition of the willing' to monitor and impose the ceasefire. The Russians have remained steadfast that neither Trump's or the EU's proposals will be considered without Ukrainian capitulation, neutrality, free and open elections and de-nazification.
