I don't know if this is really Putin's offer to Trump, but if in fact this is his offer (which I would guess is pretty close to what he would offer),
1. Do you think Trump would take it or something very close to it?
2. Do you think he would be doing well, or making a big mistake if he in fact did so?
The alleged proposed offer:
https://youtu.be/6Q--qeMimig?t=313 (5:13 mark in the video)
1. No Russian advances anywhere, including Ukraine, if the borders are fixed. Russia keeps Crimea & the 4 oblasts it has already captured & which voted to become part of Russia.
2. No further eastern NATO expansion
3. No offensive weapons placement near Russia
4. NATO deployments back to pre-1997 positions
Cooperative deals with Russia, such as access to rare earth metals & Russian energy etc. and friendship with Russia going forward as part of a win/win bonus for making a deal as opposed to continuing or possibly escalating the war.
For my part, I think he should take such a deal, humiliating as it may be for the neocons who instigated the war.
If Trump accepts the deal I don't see how Ukraine or NATO could rationally decide to go it alone against Russia. It would be suicide for them to do so. Ukraine would have been better served by not letting NATO/Obama/Biden & the neocon warmongers in the US use them as pawns in this proxy war against Russia. Next best would have been to have cut their losses at the 4 day mark in the war, when they had already entered into negotiations with Russia and would have gotten a far better deal land wise and would not have suffered such horrendous humanitarian losses, not to mention the infrastructure damage that will take decades to repair.
Time will tell, but I hope all sides are ready to humble themselves and resolve this in a rational way before more death and destruction is visited on even more innocent people.
