but not in all cases. The profit margins enjoyed by foreign manufacturers are substantially larger due to the lower cost of labor and the lack of regulatory restrictions. If there is domestic competition for their products and there almost always is, those profit margins might be trimmed in order to maintain customer base. Likewise, its not unusual for domestic retailers to trim margins to remain competitive.
