Do you want the state or the feds overseeing the locals?
I don't. The incessant demand for feds to oversee everything in the interest of uniformity, "fairness" is exactly why we have a bloated fed gvmt and why there is so much power there and in turn all the fighting over that federal power.
edit: and if the feds aren't funding it, they have zero role in oversight
