Trump as especially prone to that relative to other people.

Some were predicting Nixon was going to be declaring marshall law &/or establishing a dictatorship, but that wasn't the case.

I think the more likely scenario would be the warmongers who are calling the shots miscalculating and putting us on a slippery slope to nuclear brinksmanship and then someone miscalculates or things just spiral out of control & all hell breaks loose.
