Epstein was a massive leverage holder, and was likely the most powerful person in the country during his prime time on earth, across those administrations you mentioned. Politicians aren't going to rip the rug from underneath their own feet. Now libs want to to cling to any relevancy they can muster up by clinging to this and tying this to Trump any way they can
