So they were living in university housing prior to being eligible for benifits while taking summer classes in Lawrence trying to become academically eligible after moving from Philly (their unemployed mother also then became the secretary of one of ku’s largest boosters when they moved). As 18 year olds they were caught drinking and also shooting people in their dorm. Morris admitted to shooting the Airsoft rifle BB gun from his apartment window. Morris's attorney entered a not guilty plea, claiming the facts were not accurately reported and denying that Morris fired the gun out the window.
