problems, THIS is a real crisis.
There is not enough diversity in baseball. And by diversity of course the author means black players.
Name a professional sport that has the percentages of white (boooo) black, brown and asian players on the same teams.
Diversity and "people of color" are just last racist ways of telling everyone how terrible everything for blacks.
Horrors, MLB is only 6.2% black. And yet of the top 100 prospects, 17% are black. The article uses the 17% number not to demonstrate anything positive but to accentuate the negative.
In 1975 the percentage was about 18.5% in mlb. So blacks were OVER represented then. Maybe MLB fixed that out of balance diversity apportionment.
But now they must fight on so black boys can see "someone who looks like" me on tv.
I tuned in to see a bit of the speeches y'day and sabathia was in the middle of his "black aces" rant and i figured, "lucky me, i tuned in to see great players talk about baseball and i get a free speech about diversity".
