Then insert something about doubt, disrespect, poor performance, etc., which is obviously *their* assertion, but they won't own it.

Another good one is, "Talk to me about..." (insert whatever topic here), which is then followed by the reporter answering his/her own question with leading statements that the player just repeats in his own words.
