with grandiose dreams of actually making "America Great Again" and being seen as the president that saved America, or at least turned it around at a critical juncture in its history. He could well even be dreaming of actually having his visage carved up on Mount Rushmore.

It seems reasonably probable to me that he walked into their (Epstein's) honey trap and now they have him by the balls, greatly hampering his dreams... but given his ego, he may think that he can still pull it off... appease them enough that they will let him have some wins here and there in what is left of his final term.
